Airmen (of the U.S. Air Force) and Sailors (of the U.S. Navy) have a friendly rivalry. More like a grudging respect. Aww, heck. They just don’t like each other, plain and simple. But war has a way of changing that. Maybe like how sharing a foxhole can change one’s perspective, sharing a prison cell during war can mean that an initial skepticism can become outright camaraderie. Having to nurse back to heath and totally care for a fellow POW who is so injured he’s unable to do anything for himself Well, that led to something more: a life-long friendship.
